ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work
I will work to:
Promote conservation of our local land resources.
Water is a precious resource for Hollis. Our agricultural heritage depends on it. Low-density development and land conservation is our best means to preserve Hollis for future generations.
Keep Hollis affordable for our residents.
I will seek to avoid costly expansions of our Town staff. In addition, minimizing the density of development will help avoid costly expansions of schools, Town facilities and budgets.
Represent working families and commuters in Town government.
Many local board members are retired and/or work in the development industry. Some also hold positions on multiple boards. I will recruit and back appointments of residents who support the views of our working commuters.
Advocate for the Town’s interests at the State Level.
State level politics has been pushing to remove and reduce local control, particularly of land use. I will work with the New Hampshire Municipal Association to lobby for more local control.
Promote transparency in the selection of members for local boards.
I will ensure that board appointees are interviewed in public. Additionally, I will advocate for selection of candidates who are non-political and not already serving on other Town boards.
I moved to Hollis in 2014 for its rural, small town charm. Hollis's community of volunteers, both in government and local organizations, contribute to our town's appeal. The vistas of quiet country roads, acres of apple trees and other agricultural products serve to relax and uplift travelers as they enter our town.
I see the threats to Hollis, and I know I must work to preserve what we have. From my experiences living in New York, I know how quickly overdevelopment can wipe out the serene beauty of small towns like ours. I will strive to safeguard the precious gifts we enjoy, not only for us but for future generations.
